NewsX celebrates the power of womanhoodIn an endeavor to celebrate the spirit of womanhood, NewsX, India’s only HDTV-ready English news channel, has tied up with the Art of Living Foundation as the official television partner for the 3rd International Women’s Conference. The conference titled ‘The Light of Leadership: Integrating Global Perspective’, being held in Bangalore from 6th to 8th February, 2009. The conference has been designed by The Art of Living Foundation to create a network to bring about a positive change in the society. The Foundation is a multi-faceted, not-for-profit educational and humanitarian NGO with a global presence.
The three-day-long event will bring together some very prominent personalities including Nobel Prize winner, Dagmar Soerboe; danseuse and actress Hema Malini; Member of European Parliament, Erika Mann; actress Sharmila Tagore; Director of Women & Child Welfare Programmes at the Art of Living Foundation, Mrs Bhanumathi and Amanda Ellis of World Bank. In addition, His Holiness Shri Shri Ravi Shankar will be addressing the conference.
NewsX’ Senior Presenter, Ratna Singh, who comes with a vast experience in television journalism, will also hold a chair for one of the panel discussions on “Strength of Womanhood - the media portrayals”. While the dialogue would highlight the importance of women leadership in ensuring sustainable development; Ratna will get greater insights from these learned minds over various interviews. Bringing these voices to your television screen is the specially designed women’s special programme on NewsX from February 15 to March 8 .
